And I decided to go to Lviv after my Poland visit. After a 11-hour bus ride, I arrived to a location near Lviv Train Station. I booked my hotel before I arrived to the city. I paid 30 dollars for 2 nights in Art Apart which is located just in the middle of the city. It is a big and clean apartment on the second floor of a 3-story historical building. You may prefer it during your visit.
After leaving my luggage, I went to the streets. In order to get a city map, first, I go to the Information Center. I already planned where to visit but it is a good thing to have a map.

Rynok Square
We can call it the heart of the city. There are tens of cafes, restaurants and historical buildings in Rynok Square. You can see churches everywhere around. You can buy a map in the tourism office before you start your city tour.
Municipality Building and Tower
Municipality building is in the middle of the city. Municipality Observation Tower is open for visitor since its renovation in 1851.
The tower which you can climb through the Municipality Building, is 65 meter high. You have to climb 410 steps to see magnificent Lviv architecture from the tower. After a certain height, you really get scared of the wooden stairs. Entrance fee is very cheap. There was a student group during my entrance, so I blended in them and entered for free.

Lviv Coffee in the corner of the square is a heaven-like place for people who loves coffee. You can read your book while having your coffee or enter the vaults to see how they make coffees. It is a must-see place.

Dominica Cathedral and Monastery
This church is the best place in the city of Lviv which shows mystical architecture and style of the middle age. It was built in 12. century. In 18. century, when the church which had a gothic architecture was about to collapse, it was rebuilt.
Transfiguration Church
In a bazaar near the Opera Building, I bought a hat. The weather is really cold. After touring the bazaar, I go to Transfiguration Church. Not many people are there. I have a little rest inside. The motives on the church’s dome is excellent.
Opera Building
As other ones in Ukraine, the Opera Building here is also greatly magnificent. Since I went to the opera in Odessa, I did not buy ticket for opera here. But I did not leave before I got inside the building. If you have time, do not end your visit before you attend to a show in this historical building for a reasonable fee.
After seeing the Opera Building, I go to Tatar Restaurant to eat something. It is quite small place but they have very delicious meals. When I m full, I move on…

Bar Mushly
When I got out of the church, the sun was about to set. I walk back to Rynok Square. You should visit Bar Mushly eand have a meal or drink. The prices are reasonable for the place. One bottle of red wine, a seafood plate and various garnitures cost me only 35 dollars.

Beer Theatre Pravda
After the meal, I went to the 3 story Beer Theatre Pravda just across Bar Mushly. The place is pretty interesting, you can buy souvenirs in the ground floor. In the middle, there is a marching band and they play some popular songs. I really had a fun time. You can also have your meal here. Don’t forget to drink their special beers.

Lychakiv Cemetery
Next day, first, I go to Lychakiv which is the most interesting cemetery in the world. It was built in 1786 by Austro-Hungarian Kingdom in Galicia. It is one of the oldest cemeteries in Europe. What makes this cemetery so interesting and different are the tomb stones. In this cemetery which is in use since 18. century, there are tombs of notable people of the country, instead of ordinary people.
In the cemetery, mostly the members of county families and cultural, scientific, moral and administrative elite members of the city are buried. The cemetery, open to the visitors as a museum, has a 42 hectares of space. It has approximately 400,000 tombs. The oldest tomb stone is dated back to 1675.

High Castle
Kalenin adı Saray tepesi olarak bilinen Galiçya – Volyn devleti zamanlarında kurulmuş bir yerleşim noktasıdır. Parkın adı tepede yer aldığı için “Yüksek Saray” olarak anılmış. There is also a big park which was built in 1835. It is a great place in which you can have a bird’s-eye view on the whole city.
Crimean Tatar Restaurant
Crimean Cafe is located 5 minutes away by walking from the Opera Building. You can prefer it, if you don’t eat everything abroad and search for “halal slaughter”. I also went there by chance. You can taste delicious Crimean meals. I paid only 176 Grivnis for meat pasty, soup, Tatar meal, ice cream and Turkish coffee.
Address: Furmanski Avenue No:1
Coffee Museum (Кав’ярня)
After touring the castle, I go to old city of Lviv. While walking on the side streets, I went to one of the restaurants. The place is very different. The stoves made of the bricks from 18. and 19. century are used as a background. The 2 story place has really a warm atmosphere. The meals are delicious and the prices are cheap.
